Happy New Year to everyone!
We have been getting emails about our plans for 2018. Thanks so much for all your interest and we love to hear from you and to talk about one of our favorite subjects, ‘Doodles’. They have such a big part of our hearts. Thanks to everyone that has sent pictures, testimonies and ‘ doodle stories’ to us over the last year. Keep them coming. We love them! Doodles have so much personality and they keep us laughing and they make our homes a warmer and more complete place.
To answer one of the most asked question, Yes,we will be having puppies in the spring and again later this year. In case you are interested, you can contact us for more info at (281) 235 3272. We have standards and our babies will range from red to light apricots and a few creams. The truth is, no matter the coat type and color, they are all darling and full of personality.
Thank you and we look forward to hearing from you in 2018.

When we have puppies in our home, it seems like everything centers around puppy care and early training. We count it a blessing but there is never a dull moment. We are adding new equipment and problem-solving challenges to our socialization program, which is always a lot of fun. We are reorganizing to make more space for our new activities which is a challenge in itself .
Right now, it’s pretty quiet around here but we are hoping to have puppies this fall. We just plan a few litters yearly. We were expecting them a little earlier but Mother Nature has her own time schedule. It gives us a little more time to get ready. For those of you that are on our waiting list, it is going to be a little longer wait than we had anticipated. Please let us know if you have any questions.
This year, we have had many requests for mini-doodles. At Rainfields we do only have standard sized doodles. Our puppies typically range from 50- 75 lbs. with a few of the boys even maturing a bit larger. They definitely can’t fit into the mini category. When our pups are newborns, they weigh just 1 lb. more or less.. When they go to their new homes at 8-10 weeks, most are between 8 and 12lbs. They grow so fast as they know they have a lot of livin’ to do. They are so full of love and the joy of life. Although they are not mini doodles, some never seem to realize they are not lap dog size.
Have a great summer! I am blessed to share in doodle travels as families send me pics of their vacations. Most do travel well and love to be included. One warning tho’, doodles are quite the crowd stoppers. Be prepared to make new friends. I love the pictures sent my way so a big ‘thanks’ to those of you that do.

This is our little Clouseau when he was just about 1 month old. Our Doodle babies all start out about 1 lb. at birth but they change so rapidly. We enjoy watching them grow into the wonderful ‘home changers’ they will become. Clouseau has come a long way and is now almost 1 year old. It didn’t take long for him to outgrow our little kitchen ‘puppy’ scale.
Just in case you’ve been thinking about the idea of adding a bouncy Goldendoodle fur ball to your household, we have good news. We are expecting puppies! It’s an early announcement as they won’t be ready until around the first week of December but those months go by quickly. We are excited as having little ones around our home is always such a happy and busy time. We look forward with anticipation.
Our puppies will be first generation (F1) standard Goldendoodles . The sire is an AKC Standard Poodle and the mom is an AKC Golden Retriever. Both have great temperaments.
Happy Days are here again….almost!

We love changes! Although we have always put a lot into our puppy raising, there’s always room for improvement. We always look forward to getting ongoing feedback and keeping up with our puppies as they grow and develop the wonderful potential Goldendoodle puppies all have all have. After researching , we were very impressed with the PUPPY CULTURE method of early socialization. For the last few years, we have been using the ‘Puppy Culture’ techniques with each of our Goldendoodle litters and have been very pleased with the results. Jane Killion, the director, is a long time breeder of Bull Terriers and has an extensive list of credentials, professional references and the proof of the pudding, her dogs. Her little bull terrier pups are the stars of her DVD Series. We are still fine tuning some of the details and modifying others to our situation but we try and stick as closely as we can to her techniques. Raising a litter properly is time consuming but since we plan just a few litters yearly, we can put in the time with each pup. If you ever have the chance, check out the PUPPY CULTURE website. Their DVD series is well worth the time and cost. A puppy’s first months are crucial and the things they learn during those months set the stage for further training and those lessons last a lifetime.

Doodles just love their training and as all puppies do, they need it. I would like to say they are all pre-made angels but early training just makes so much difference.

EXPECTED LITTERS
If all goes as planned, we are expecting a late fall/ winter litter this year as well as a Spring 2017 litter. We are taking deposits for the future Rainfield darlings so let us know if you might be interested.

There’s so much to love about summer!
Doodles are great lovers of water and in the Texas heat, water activities are just something so many of us enjoy. Water play is just so much more fun with children and doodles. You know you are a Texas dog parent when checking out life jackets for dogs at the Sports store, is the highlight of the day.
Dixie is one of our 2016 F1b pups and she’s getting a few swimming lessons from the pros. I hear that Dock Diving is on the future agenda for her.

Romeo goes for a swim.
