What Odie’s family has to say about him!
“We brought home our sweet Golden Doodle, Odie, from this Rainfield one year ago, and we couldn’t be happier with our decision. From the very beginning, the experience was professional, transparent, and full of care. The breeder was incredibly knowledgeable and responsive, answering all of our questions and making sure we felt confident and prepared before bringing Odie home.
Odie has been the perfect addition to our family — healthy, smart, affectionate, and full of personality. It’s clear he came from a loving and well-maintained environment. His temperament is outstanding, and we constantly receive compliments on how beautiful and well-behaved he is.
It’s obvious that this breeder prioritizes the health and well-being of their dogs, and it shows in every interaction. We’re so grateful for the joy Odie has brought into our lives, and we highly recommend this breeder to anyone looking to add a Golden Doodle to their family!
Thank you for giving us our best friend! 🐾”Odie has been the perfect addition to our family — healthy, smart, affectionate, and full of personality…. His temperament is outstanding, and we constantly receive compliments on how beautiful and well-behaved he is.”

If you think Winnie is cute now, just wait till her beautiful red locks come in with a bang over the next few weeks. This little cutie has a shaggy wavy coat and is a medium standard goldendoodle.

Are the Puppies Potty Trained?
Potty training is a process that take time and consistency. Your new puppy is already doing fairly well on early potty training, but they are puppies and will still have accidents. Casey, daddy to Dax, a Rainfield Goldendoodle, sent us our latest goldendoodle check-in and included some beautiful pictures and even a video clip. Dax is one our curly f1b Goldendoodle pups who move to North Texas, and, from the looks of it, he’s living the life and loving being the dog of the house.
I noticed the pictures of Dax in the swimming pool and asked Casey if Dax was a water lover. Being hybrids, some of our goldendoodles LOVE water (retreiver side) and others like to keep their gorgeous coats high and dry (poodle side).
Apparently Dax likes water, with a lower case “L”. In other words, he will dive off the dock to go save his human sibling if he falls off the surf board, or he will go get the tennis ball that fell in the pool, but LOVES water is stretching it a little too far. He leans more into the hugger and great companion side of being a goldendoodle than the pro-swimmer, and that’s all right with us!
We hope you enjoy the pictures of Dax and his wonderful family!
Goldendoodle Dax sure is a cutie pie! Hugs to Dax and a shout out to his mom and dad! Thank you for the Goldendoodle check-in. We love to hear how our doodles are living their best life! Keep up the good work!

What We Learn By Observing our Goldendoodle Pups at Play…
The pups are having fun and we get to not only play with them and get lots of doodle kisses and hugs, but we also get to see a little better who they are and what makes these little cuties tick! Are they extra playful and like to start all the games and check out the new toys?
Daisy, definitely one of the playful, adventurous types
Are they quieter and more relaxed, liking to join in for a bit and then retreating to their favorite spot on the dog cot? Which puppy is the water lover?
Emma and Summer — can you tell which one is the water lover and who likes to keep her coat pretty?
Who comes up to us and loves getting more snuggles and giving kisses? Which one are more cautious — noticing that new box with doorways cut in, but waiting for the more adventurous one to go first — just to make sure it’s safe? And, yes, there are the adventurous and curious ones who will are the jump first, ask later types. Some love stuffy toys, others like the squeaky ones or chew toys.
Nemo carried around his favorite stuffy today! And, yes, it needed to go in the wash afterwards.
These are all things you observe when you get to be a part of Playtime with Goldendoodle Puppies.
We hope you enjoy seeing our pups at play as much as we do!

New Adventures with Our Goldendoodle Pups at 5 weeks old
Heading Outdoors
Our darling little doodles are now 5 weeks old and ready for some new experiences and early training. One of the things we introduce to our goldendoodle pups at 5 weeks old is outdoor playtime. Our home-raised puppies are all raised inside of our home, but as they grow, they need more space to run and play and get the socialization that outdoor playtime affords. Welll, today was the day! Houston heat is no fun, but with shade and plenty of cool water, the pups loved their outdoor playtime … for about 30 minutes.
Litlte Finn discovers the cotLittle Piko is one of the smaller boys. He struggled a little at first, but didn’t give up!
Potty Training continues
The pups quickly found the litter box, which helps keep their play area clean. Eventually we move outside the grass to get them ready for what the real world is like, but for now, the litter box sure is handy. These cuties now need the larger litter box. Our little doodles were doing so well with their smallers ones, but the puppies are growing so fast. It was time for their big boy and girl potties.
Tails up…
Introducing the dog crate
We place a crate inside the play area with the doors open, so they can check it out and get used to the concept. Other than that, we had a great time just hanging out while outdoors today.
Tonight will be their first night sleeping in a crate. Let’s see how that goes. At this age they usually take it in stride. I was late with the crate training with one litter and they were about six and half weeks old before they were introduced to the crate, and, boy, did they let me know their thoughts about that. They were my noisiest litter. They did eventually get it, but was a good reminder that the younger they are, the easier it is to introduce new concepts.
Someone ventured into the crate for the first time
Getting to Know You, Little One!
I really love this stage where we finally get a glimpse at their little personalities. They are all so unique and different, which is why, in my opinion, goldendoodles make such wonderful companions and friends. Their outside playtime is where we start to get the biggest hints at who these little goldendoodles are as we sit with them, interact with them and watch them interact with their siblings. There are a few cuddle bugs who will trail around whoever is outside with them, always begging to be picked up and snuggled. They can never get too many pets or cuddles.
We found the observant one, our little cream goldendoodle boy
Then, there are the adventurous playful and observant pups who will be checking out every nook and cranny. Smelling and, yes, tasting the news of the day. Today this bunch found a few healthy weeds that were trying to creep up between the paver stone. These ones are the life of the party and love starting the games and getting the rest following along.
Little Shelly, one of our 5 week old goldendoodle pups
The laid back ones play for a little while and then find a comfy spot in the shade to watch the world go by — and the goofballs do their things. Sometimes we have a pup or two who is a little more cautious and reserved. These pups watch first and wait to join in until they are sure it’s a good idea.
Little Dory already has a beautiful smile – 5 week old goldendoodle pup
King of the Mountain on the dog cot was the big game today! Little Finn and Piko were the two Kings today. Nobody figured out the slide today, but it has been spotted.
We have our King of the Mountain — for now… Good job, Finn!

F1b goldendoodle puppies for sale in Houston this summer
We’ll leave you with a few more fun pictures of our goldendoodle pups at 5 weeks old as they enjoy their very first outdoor adveture!
So What’s It like with 4 week old Goldendoodle puppies?
Last week we touched on life with our goldendoodle pups at 3 weeks old and all the fun changes in their lives. It’s been 7 whole days, which is like several months in human days, so let’s move on and see what’s new with our 4 week old goldendoodle puppies!
First Bath and Introduction to… The HAIR DRYER
Now that the pups have been eating solid (mushy) food for about a week, they were starting to look and smell a little funky. Time for their first bath! At 4 weeks old and about 4 or 5 pounds, these doodle pups can still be bathed in the sink. Most loved the lukewarm water and soothing massage.
This little female is still tiny enough for a sink bathPeekaboo!
After their bath, the puppies got their new breakaway puppy collars and got their first exposure to the hair dryer. This is really the perfect age to introduce a hair dryer. All of them were so pretty relaxed and did surprisingly well for their first time (of many if you are a goldendoodle with long, beautiful locks). After that, it was a LONG nap to recover from all that work! It’s not easy being beautiful!
No more newborn collars, these pups are ready for their breakaway collarsThe noise of the dryer didn’t seem to phase this sweet doodle pup
Potty Training Progress
As we talked about last week, we introduced the litter boxes to our little 3 week old cuties. Last week, the pups were pretty oblivious, with some even used it as a bed. Check out their progress in just 7 days! All on their own, most of the our 4 week old goldendoodle puppies figured out what a litter box is for. The pups are now doing their business in the litter box or on the pee pads. They’re not perfect and are still a little messy, but there is a marked improvement and definite progress. Now that they know what’s what, we’ll transition them to the bigger litter boxes that are a little easier for them to find and use as they grow.
Success with the litterbox!
Age appropriate Socialization Exercises with our 4 week old Goldendoodle Puppies
We are starting to introduce new looks (funny hats, wigs, hoodies, etc.), loud noises, (clanging pots, crinkling bags), and new toys and stimuli. These sharp little doodle puppies just take it in stride and keep right on playing, sleeping or whatever they were doing in the first place. The new item we introduced into their play area today was the Shark Kitty Tunnel. It was a big hit! It won’t stand much of a chance once their little piranha teeth come in, but it’s fun while it lasts.
Trying to figure out what this new toy is that just appeared in their pen
Even month old pups can start learning manners…
My daughter, Alice, decided to see if our little munchkins were ready to start learning to “mand” (learning to sit when asked by an upturned hand, in order to get pets and attention). Sure enough, I came downstairs about 15 minutes later to three little pups all sitting nicely, waited to be petted by a silly girl in a wig and funny hat. Not bad for 4 week old puppies.
THe question is, are they learning to “mand” — or just wondering who this crazy person is with a wig and strange hat?
Getting Ready for Week 5 – Crate training, outside playtime and more.
We’re pulling out the crates this week and will start to let them sleep in their crates at night. It’s the next step in their early potty training and helps get them used to crates and it being a safe, cozy place to sleep at night.
Also next week (weather permitting), we may start the outside playtime in our puppy play area. Houston heat is no fun, so we try to keep to short sessions, but they do love to run, play and explore and then come into the nice air conditioning to sleep and recoup all that energy. The pups this year have it easy compared the babies last year who had to cope (along with their humans) with no electricity after Hurricane Beryl paid us a visit.
This shark kitty tunnel is safe till those piranha teeth come in next week!
Time for New Puppy Meet and Greet With New Families
Also next week, we will start meet and greets for families who have put down deposits. The pups little personalities are starting to emerge and they are noticing people more. Between 4-5 weeks we start to notice the ones who are more outgoing, or more cautious and discerning, the smart ones who figure everything else, or the laid back ones who like to watch the world go by. It’s such a joy to begin to discover who each of these little cuties are.
Come meet our wonderful little puppies and pick one out for your family.
