For the Love of Doodles

For the Love of Doodles

We entered the World of Doodles back in 2008 with the arrival of our lovely poodles, Sir Wellington and Lexi and our two Goldens, Sedric and Bella. Little did we know how they would change our lives  We have learned a lot since then and grown a bit but had no idea just how much we would fall in love with Doodles over the years., caring for our little ones.  We have burned the midnight oil many a night. The last few years, my 2 older daughters (Nadia and Maya) have been more  involved  and helping to carry on our Doodle journey with youthful energy and new ideas. Good news! Research is a key and Google is our friend.

If you contact us and are referred to Nadia or Maya, just know they are a trusted part of our family and can help and answer your Doodle questions and needs. They now have been raising their own puppies, on a small scale, for a few years. You should feel confident if you end up taking home one of their precious bundles, as they have had Rainfield’s love poured into them as well. We are continuing to be small breeders, as we believe in working  with our puppies to bring out the best in them during the first few crucial months. Doodle babies add so much to a home and we are so proud of them.

We will be having puppies available near the end of this year and early 2019. We are not yet sure about the dates. If you are interested, please keep checking in.

Lucy’s Little Ones and Update on Valorie

Lucy’s Little Ones and Update on Valorie

We have a bit of good news for anyone that happens to be looking for a sweet summer puppy to add to your family. Our grandaughter’s service dog Lucy, has a new litter of little F1 goldendoodles that will be ready to go to their new homes mid July. For anyone interested, now is  your chance!

Our Valorie has battled Cystic Fibrosis from birth. She will be 18 this year. She was blessed with Lucy a few years back and she has been such a help for her through many hard times. At the moment, Valorie is spending more and more time in the hospital and is currently being evaluated for a double lung transplant. We are praying. Back home and being a new mom, her Lucy is a loving and busy mom to her new babies .My grandkids have always helped with our puppies throughout the years and many in our Rainfield doodle family know Valorie and have doodles that she helped raise. We began using the Puppy Culture protocols about 3 years ago and several of my older grandchildren have become great upcoming puppy trainers. For anyone who has not heard of Puppy Culture, it is an early socialization program for the puppy’s first months of life. We feel it makes a tremendous difference and is quite fun at the same time.  My grandkids get to help with the puppies from birth. Valorie has had to step back from the training but when she is able, is still there to cuddle the little ones and they feel her love.

Here are a few pictures of the new little ones and Valorie with her Lucy..

We wish you all a wonderful memory making summer and look forward to hearing from you!

Fall 2017

Fall 2017

When we have puppies in our home, it seems like everything centers around puppy care and early training. We count it a blessing but there is never a dull moment. We are adding new equipment and problem-solving challenges to our socialization program, which is always a lot of fun. We are reorganizing to make more space for our new activities which is a challenge in itself .

Right now, it’s pretty quiet around here but we are hoping to have puppies  this fall. We just plan a few litters yearly. We were expecting them a little earlier but Mother Nature has her own time schedule. It gives us a little more time to get ready. For those of you  that are on our waiting list, it is going to be a little longer wait than we had anticipated. Please let us know if you have any questions.

This year, we have had many requests for mini-doodles.  At Rainfields we do only have standard sized doodles. Our puppies typically range from 50- 75 lbs. with a few of the boys even maturing a bit larger. They definitely can’t fit into the mini category. When our pups are newborns, they weigh just 1 lb. more or less.. When they go to their new homes at 8-10 weeks, most are between 8  and 12lbs. They grow so fast as they know they have a lot of livin’ to do. They are so full of love and the joy of life. Although they are not mini doodles, some never seem to realize they are not lap dog size.

Have a great summer!  I am blessed to share in doodle travels as families send me pics of their vacations. Most do travel well and love to be included. One warning tho’, doodles are quite the crowd stoppers. Be prepared to make new friends. I love the pictures sent my way so a big ‘thanks’ to those of you that do.
