What do you think of this beautiful piece of Goldendoodle Art? This gorgeous piece features 3 precious Rainfield Goldendoodles, Maggie, Milo and Mayze. Aren’t they beautiful? I love how different each of them looks. The artist captures their individual expressions perfectly!
Milo and Maggie are F1 goldendoodles and Mayze is an F1b with a lot of beautiful curl. Maggie was the first to steal her family’s heart, Milo and Mayze came later, but fit right into the family. You know what they say… you can’t just have one goldendoodle. Thank you to their mom and dad for sharing this beautiful piece of goldendoodle art with us.
(Note: The goldendoodle puppies in this post are available. If you’d like more information on our goldendoodle puppies for sale, contact me at laurie@rainfieldgoldendoodles.com.)
While we normally have all our goldendoodle puppies spoken for by the time they’re ready to go home, every now and then we have a few who stick around for a little longer. When this happens, not only do we get some extra time with the pups to do early training, we get the fun job of getting to introduce the puppies to all sorts of new experiences, which we also call “sociazliation.”
Archie loves his car rides
Socializing a goldendoodle puppy doesn’t end with puppyhood. Those first 12 weeks are crucial, but the next few months, especially after they’ve had their shots — that’s when the real fun starts.
For instance, the pups we still have from our summer litter are 20 weeks old now and have had all their shots, so I have a different buddy with me whever I go these days. They’ve been on trips with me to Sam Houston National Park and met the park rangers, they go to Home Depot and any stores that are pet friendly, they have been to our neighbors farm and have met their livestock. These doodle pups get to go on playdates with the grandkids and more.

All in Days Work Socializing a Goldendoodle
One of my recent highlights was taking the litter girl puppy into a local feed store yesterday and letting her explore a little. She loved meeting the friendly staff, but then seemed especially attracted to one man. He smiled and let me know that he is a REAL dog guy! He breeds and trains hunting dogs and 34 dogs at the moment. Now it all makes sense. This little goldendoodle knows how to pick’em.
I moved on with my shopping and the little pup trailed along. Well, this little goldendoodle is a bit of a huntress herself and delights in chasing our many country bugs and butterflies. Being an observant little doodle, she has watched me closely. We have some scary unusual country bugs that bite, so I carry my fly swatter as I go about my chores outside.
I finished checking out, and turned to go. As we were walking out, I glanced at the pup and noticed that she had visited the fly swatter display while I wasn’t looking and was proudly leaving the store with the one she had picked out in her mouth. I figured she was thinking I was leaving my favorite accessory behind or she was planning to get her own to facilitate her bug hunting. Locusts are her favorite. I guess we’ll see if she took my speech about not shoplifting to heart.
To finish up puppy’s day out, we popped in our neighbor who has a s beautiful bay horse.. It turns out my little girl is a horse lover too.
EVERYONE loves doodle kisses, right?

Are you wondering about therapy dog training for goldendoodles? Anyone with a goldendoodle in their life knows that they have an amazing ability to connect with people. As such, we’ve had quite a few of our sweet Rainfield goldendoodle puppy go on to get their therapy dog training, with some going even further and becoming service dogs. Every time we hear from one of our Rainfield familes that their dog has gotten their therapy dog certification, we like to give them a big old Texas shout out!
Willie Nelson (Left) and brother, Waylan
Today we are here to celebrate Willie Nelson, one of our Rainfield F1 goldendoodle dogs. Willie just passed his Therapy Dog testing and is eager to start visiting longterm care facilities in the fall. He says that it’s going to tough work having to visit all those friendly people who will shower him with love and pats and sometimes treats, but some dog has GOTTA do it, right? Good job, Willie! We are rooting for ya!
Tip – How to Get Your Doodle in Therapy Dog Training
Goldendoodles are smart, eager to please and love to learn, so if you have the time and want to share some of that doodle love with others in need in this way, therapy dog training for goldendoodles can be a perfect solution. We recommend starting early giving your goldendoodle puppy their basic training wit a good trainer (once they have their all their shots). Be sure to thoroughly socialize your puppy by taking them out and exposing them to a variety of real-life situations and a variety of people.
Once you get their basic training finished, if they’ve done well and seem like a good fit and temperment for therapy work, go ahead and keep going on their training. Get them into the intermediate and advanced dog training classes. Some trainers are able to give your goldendoodle the Canine Good Citizen Test, which your doodle will need to qualify for Therapy dog training. If your trainer does not offer this, ask them for recommedations of where you can get this. Once your goldendoodle has their CGC (Canine Good Citizen) certificate, they will need to take a test to qualify as a therapy dog. Some trainers offer Therapy Dog Test prep classes to get your doodle ready for the big day. Once they have their certification, organizations like Paws for Therapy can get your connected to facilities looking for certified Therapy Dogs.
If you have the time (and a doodle), we hope you will consider therapy dog training for goldendoodles.
Remembering Valorie and Her Loving Appreciation of Service Dogs
I was thinking about my sweet grandaughter, Valorie, who left this world 4 years ago and thought I would do a post in her memrory and in appreciation of service dogs.
For 18 years, my husband and I were blessed with being Grandparents to Valorie, our third grandchild. Valorie had so much going on in her life besides her battles with Cystic Fibrosis and her Lucy and Goldendoodle puppies were just one beautiful part of her life. She had a big hand in socializing and training the pups when she was with me, which was often in the early years. Sweet Valorie was often with me on ‘Gothcha Days’ when people would come to their new goldendoodle puppy. Valorie had so much to say that I often had trouble getting a word in edgewise as she would gave the new families a rundown of their new puppy. Valorie would make sure they had all the best tips for doodle care’ and knew what their care and training history had been so far. Each familiy was always so kind and patient as they listened to her sometimes lengthy explanations. .Val was blessed with a special connection with dogs, especially puppies. Our pups all loved Vaorie! I would often find her asleep on the floor with puppies sleeping all around her.
This July marks 4 years since she sprouted her wings and started her Heavenly journey. She is greatly missed by all that knew her. She may have left us young, but she sure left her mark and a memorable legacy.
So today, as we remember sweet Valorie, apprecition of service dogs and the joy they added to her precious life seems like it goes hand in hand. Here are some our favorite pictures of her and her loyal companion and service dog, Lucy.
