Hey there!
Gunner, our doodle we got from you guys, is still strong healthy and 11 years old! I just wanted to reach out and tell you how very blessed we’ve been by this amazing boy. I pray we get as many more years as God will allow.
When I picked up Gunner I was still married to my ex husband. I was blissfully unaware of the storm that was about to hit my life. I held this tiny chicken nugget in my arms the whole ride home from Humble to San Antonio and nothing else mattered. Then just a year later my perfect fairy tale image of marriage was shattered and Gunnner stayed by my side. He moved into my tiny apartment with me as I tried to pick up the pieces of my life.
A few months later unexpectedly I met my husband and father of my children. He quickly became Gunner’s best friend and brought his own dog into the family. Gunner stood by and gave me comfort when I was very sick with HG during my pregnancies and was present for all of their births!
He’s now our youngest son’s best friend in the whole world. My son’s first thing daily after school goes to Gunner’s room to tell him all about his day and snuggle him. He’s there to give comfort when anyone is sick he knows it and sticks to them like glue. He knows when we are sad, when we need hugs and I can’t tell you enough how grateful we are to have had these last 11 years with him.

Christy’s story starts many years ago when she and her husband were engaged. From what she says, they couldn’t WAIT to get their first puppy so they treked on over to Rainfield Goldendoodle in North Houston and adopted a darling goldendoodle puppy named Gus. She had so many sweet and fun stories to tell of Gus and his many adventures as he raised her two little ones and was an important part of their home.

It’s been a few years now since Kipper crossed the rainbow bridge and Christy’s family were finally ready to bring a new puppy home! Lucky for them, little Lily, a spunky little goldendoodle puppy, was born on Father’s Day. With her perky personality and love of adventure (and water), Lily was a little ray of sunshine just waiting to bring joy and loads of fun to a very special family.

When Christy’s family came to choose out a puppy, Lily was sure this was her family, and she was right! From the sounds of it, she’s fitting right in to Christy’s household. She had a good night’s sleep in her crate last night and has been busy discovering the ins and outs of Christy’s busy home. She’s a little velcro puppy so far! It’s her first big day away from her former home and siblings, but she’ll be feeling herself again in no time! Have fun little one!

Casey, daddy to Dax, a Rainfield Goldendoodle, sent us our latest goldendoodle check-in and included some beautiful pictures and even a video clip. Dax is one our curly f1b Goldendoodle pups who move to North Texas, and, from the looks of it, he’s living the life and loving being the dog of the house.
I noticed the pictures of Dax in the swimming pool and asked Casey if Dax was a water lover. Being hybrids, some of our goldendoodles LOVE water (retreiver side) and others like to keep their gorgeous coats high and dry (poodle side).
Apparently Dax likes water, with a lower case “L”. In other words, he will dive off the dock to go save his human sibling if he falls off the surf board, or he will go get the tennis ball that fell in the pool, but LOVES water is stretching it a little too far. He leans more into the hugger and great companion side of being a goldendoodle than the pro-swimmer, and that’s all right with us!

Today we are highlighting Gus, a 1 year old, white or cream goldendoodle, who became one of the Goldendoodles of Galveston last summer when he joined Judy and her family. He became little brother to Jewel, another Rainfield Goldendoodle who is now 5 years old.

Together they spend their days lounging around in the sun, attending festivals, going for long walks on the beach, spreading doodle joy and making friends whereever they go.

Judy and her family are a multi-doodle family. Gus and Jewel are hers, and her daughter and son have doodles of their own, which Judy often dog sits. When they all get together, which they frequently do, it’s one big goldendoodle party! We love getting updates from Judy and her family. She is an excellent photographer and storyteller. All of her updates include beautiful pictures with a fun story behind it. She does such a good job at keeping us up to date with Guy and Jewel’s daily adventures as goldendoodles in Galveston. They make excellent goldendoodle ambassadors everywhere they go.

Goldendoodle Pupdates – Meet Kaela, now a 1 year old goldendoodle from Houston, Texas
Kaela – a 1 year old goldendoodle – with her summer cut. Kaela loves water, so keeping her coat shorter in the summer prevents matting.
What is a Goldendoodle Pupdate?
Here at Rainfield, we are blessed to raise your future puppy for the first 2-3 months. We handle them multiple times daily, watch them play and learn, get to know their budding personalities, we spend time teaching them to eat, potty in the right place, how to sleep in their crate, and enjoy seeing them grow to the beauitiful pups that you take home when they are old enough. We do get attached and it’s not always easy to say goodbye when the big day comes. BUT… it makes it so worth it and brings us joy when we get pupdates and pictures and get to hear how loved they are and how they have become a much cherished member of your family.
Kaela – when she was but a wee goldendoodle puppy
A big thank you to Ally, from South Houston for her goldendoodle pupdate, along with pictures and video clips. Ally adopted our sweet little Sierra (renamed Kaela), a cream goldendoodle puppy, last year to be a companion to Kona, her 5 year old goldendoodle. Kona’s older sister had crossed over the rainbow bridge and Kona was taking it pretty hard. Kaela sounds like she’s done a wonderful job being a companion to Kona. According to mommy Ally, Kona’s also been a great teacher. Those two goldendoodles have become best of friends and are living the good life at their home in South Houston.
Kaela is a great pupil and picks up training from her big sister Kona.

“Kaela is such a good girl. Her temperament has been astounding for a puppy. She hardly ever barks or growls unless she sees something she wants us to be aware of or she wants to come back inside — not even when she and Kona play fight.
She also loves meeting new people! When she was younger and would slip out the front door if a delivery person dropped something off she was tail wagging and just pure love for everyone.
She paid attention to the commands we give Kona whether it’s to sit or come home and she learned commands from her by mimicking. “
