On July 8, 2024, Hurrican Beryl blew over our home with 84 mph winds. At 4 weeks old, our latest litter of goldendoodle puppies were our first litter of Goldendoodles to experience a hurricane. While not fun and a little scary, these beautiful babies got a headstart providing goldendoodle therapy during Beryl,
We worried the pups would get spooked by all the loud noises, but these doodle puppies were champs and slept through the whole morning of high winds, falling trees and fences. Not having electricity for a week was a little more challenging in this Houston heat. The pups took to loving getting frequent rinse offs and enjoyed getting sleep with us in the big room with the aircon.
Goldendoodle Therapy During Beryl
Overall, they did amazing and seriously, these babies made excellent therapy pups. These pups seemed to natural know what we needed and gave us lots of goldendoodle therapy. They stayed calm, were always ready to give cuddles, and have already mastered that “look” that lets you know they understand just what you’re going through and it’s going to be okay.

A big happy 2nd birthday to sweet Peach, an F1b goldendoodle, voted Best Office Doodle Ever! Here’s a shout out from Robin about what having a goldendoodle on staff, and in her life, is like.
Thank you, Robin, for sharing all these sweet moments with Peaches! We love seeing the very full and fun lives our doodles are living.
Update From Robin on Peaches, Best Office Doodle Ever!
“Peach brings sunshine and happiness where ever she goes. She shares my interior design studio with me. Actually, I don’t think she knows I run a business…she is pretty sure everyone comes to see her. Peach travels near and far to job sites too. Loves people and all types of animals sweetly. She runs the park with me most mornings here in SA. My life is way more fun with her in it!”
Every day is “bring your goldendoodle to work day” for this sweet girl. It’s no wonder she’s voted “Best Office Doodle Ever!”
“Waiting in my studio while the meeting is going on and on!!”
Still going?
Even Mom’s furry customers are welcome here!

“Peaches was in my bed playing on the velvet pillows…I was asking her to please get down…and that is the look she gave me. Cracked me up too!”
Peach is a total delight!

Are you wondering about therapy dog training for goldendoodles? Anyone with a goldendoodle in their life knows that they have an amazing ability to connect with people. As such, we’ve had quite a few of our sweet Rainfield goldendoodle puppy go on to get their therapy dog training, with some going even further and becoming service dogs. Every time we hear from one of our Rainfield familes that their dog has gotten their therapy dog certification, we like to give them a big old Texas shout out!
Today we are here to celebrate Willie Nelson, one of our Rainfield F1 goldendoodle dogs. Willie just passed his Therapy Dog testing and is eager to start visiting longterm care facilities in the fall. He says that it’s going to tough work having to visit all those friendly people who will shower him with love and pats and sometimes treats, but some dog has GOTTA do it, right? Good job, Willie! We are rooting for ya!
Tip – How to Get Your Doodle in Therapy Dog Training
Goldendoodles are smart, eager to please and love to learn, so if you have the time and want to share some of that doodle love with others in need in this way, therapy dog training for goldendoodles can be a perfect solution. We recommend starting early giving your goldendoodle puppy their basic training wit a good trainer (once they have their all their shots). Be sure to thoroughly socialize your puppy by taking them out and exposing them to a variety of real-life situations and a variety of people.
Once you get their basic training finished, if they’ve done well and seem like a good fit and temperment for therapy work, go ahead and keep going on their training. Get them into the intermediate and advanced dog training classes. Some trainers are able to give your goldendoodle the Canine Good Citizen Test, which your doodle will need to qualify for Therapy dog training. If your trainer does not offer this, ask them for recommedations of where you can get this. Once your goldendoodle has their CGC (Canine Good Citizen) certificate, they will need to take a test to qualify as a therapy dog. Some trainers offer Therapy Dog Test prep classes to get your doodle ready for the big day. Once they have their certification, organizations like Paws for Therapy can get your connected to facilities looking for certified Therapy Dogs.
If you have the time (and a doodle), we hope you will consider therapy dog training for goldendoodles.
Remembering Valorie and Her Loving Appreciation of Service Dogs
I was thinking about my sweet grandaughter, Valorie, who left this world 4 years ago and thought I would do a post in her memrory and in appreciation of service dogs.
For 18 years, my husband and I were blessed with being Grandparents to Valorie, our third grandchild. Valorie had so much going on in her life besides her battles with Cystic Fibrosis and her Lucy and Goldendoodle puppies were just one beautiful part of her life. She had a big hand in socializing and training the pups when she was with me, which was often in the early years. Sweet Valorie was often with me on ‘Gothcha Days’ when people would come to their new goldendoodle puppy. Valorie had so much to say that I often had trouble getting a word in edgewise as she would gave the new families a rundown of their new puppy. Valorie would make sure they had all the best tips for doodle care’ and knew what their care and training history had been so far. Each familiy was always so kind and patient as they listened to her sometimes lengthy explanations. .Val was blessed with a special connection with dogs, especially puppies. Our pups all loved Vaorie! I would often find her asleep on the floor with puppies sleeping all around her.
This July marks 4 years since she sprouted her wings and started her Heavenly journey. She is greatly missed by all that knew her. She may have left us young, but she sure left her mark and a memorable legacy.
So today, as we remember sweet Valorie, apprecition of service dogs and the joy they added to her precious life seems like it goes hand in hand. Here are some our favorite pictures of her and her loyal companion and service dog, Lucy.
Noah’s Henry, a standard F1b goldendoodle who calls Portland home, is looing pretty pleased with his Doodle fashion designs. Evidently he had a ‘rascal moment’ and tunneled through a trash bag, coming up with his very first doodle fashion design. It amazes me how happy and accomplished doodles can look, no matter what. They can be such clowns.
We have known Henry’s family for many years. He is their family’s 4th goldendoodle! Their third goldendoodle was a sweet rescue story.
One day we received an urgent call about a goldendoodle that needing to be rehomed. The poor pup was caught in the middle of family troubles and had developed anxiety behavior issues as a result. We contacted one of our favorite local dog trainers and he spent a few weeks at their training facility relearning some manners and getting settled again. Once the trainer felt he was ready, his new family came out to get trained as well and the sweet boy got to go to his new home and family, and became their doodle number three.
I love Happy Endings!
