Freddy is a sibling from last year. He has a shaggy/curly coat

Our red goldendoodle puppies are F1b puppies. Their mom is a red shaggy wavy F1 Goldendoodle and daddy is a curly small standard AKC poodle. All puppies have beautiful thick coats, some are wavy/curly and some are very curly. We have some males and females available for sale at this posting.

How Big Will These Red Doodle Pups Get?

Red goldendoodle in Austin, Texas
Oppy is around a little shy of 40 pounds at 1 year old

These F1b puppies are small standard goldendoodle puppies. We estimate that they will range in size from 30 pounds to 40, possible 45 for some of the bigger boys. Mom is a 50 pound F1 Standard goldendoodle and dad is a 25 pound small standard AKC poodle, so pups will be in that range.

What Training Will These Doodle Pups Have?

Your new doodle puppy has been sleeping in a crate at night with a few of their siblings. They may take a night or two to settle into their new homes, but they should settle in pretty quickly. We have also started their potty training. We will send you a letter with their schedule that includes what training we have been doing with these cuties so you can continue the training. Most of our puppies are well on their way to being potty trained when they go to their new homes — if you follow our instructions.

Therapy Dog Training is next for sweet Freddie. He got his training and Canine Good Citizen certificate at Petsmart. Great job!

Do These Puppies Have Their Shots and Health Records?

Yes! You new puppy has been to the vet before you pick them up and gotten a wellness exam. We give you a health record at the time of pickup that includes the information on their worming treatments and when they got their first shot.

When the puppies go home, they have had their first shots. Puppies need a total of 3 shots before they are protected from Parvo and other canine illnesses. Shots are given about 3 weeks apart. In the meantime, please do not expose your puppy to other dogs or areas/grass where other dogs may have defecated. Parvo can live in the soil for years, so be extra careful until you new puppy has had all 3 of their puppy shots. If you take your puppy to places like the pet store, please carry them or keep them in the shopping cart so they don’t touch the ground.

We do require that you schedule your new puppy for their first vet visit within 3 days of them going to new homes to validate our contract and health guarantee. Please bring your puppy’s health record with you to the vet, or take a picture of the record.

Why Get a Puppy From Rainfield Goldendoodles?

Here at Rainfield we like to spend that little extra time with our goldendoodle puppies to get them off to the best start possible. Your new puppy has had their worm and parasite treatment. They have had their first (of 3) puppy shots and have been for their first vet check up to ensure that the puppies are in general good health before they go to their new homes. We also give you a 1 year health guarantee for congenital issues.

Your new puppy is already on a schedule, which you can continue or switch up to make it work for you. We have started crate training your puppy. Your puppy will generally be sleeping through the night by the time they go to their new home. You may have a rough night or two as they settle in, but they generally adjust fairly quickly. Part of the crate training process is potty training, so your new doodle pup has already gotten started on their potty training. Again, we will give you some tips and instructions on how you can keep it up. If you follow through, most families have a fairly easy time potty training their new puppy.

Socialization time for our Goldendoodle Puppies

Early Socialization of Your Puppy

Socializing a new puppy involves introducing puppies to a variety of sounds, sensations, new experiences and circumstances while it’s easier on them. Puppies are naturally more curious and fearless. The more you expose your puppy to at a young age, the more well-rounded and confident they will be in a variety of situations. For instance, your puppy has already been introduced to young toddlers and children, to water, to loud noises. If there are firework shows going on, we’re taking a walk with them so they can get used to it. Once you take your puppy home, you will need to continue to do this as much as possible. Of course, until they have their third and final puppy shot, you will need to keep them close to home and avoid areas where dogs with parvo and other illnesses could have been, but once that’s done, have fun!

Crate Trained Goldendoodle Puppies

Crate Trained Goldendoodle Puppies

Are you Looking for Crate Trained Goldendoodle Puppies?

We often get asked if we have crate trained goldendoodles puppies and what new doodle owners can expect. The short answer is, yes, crate and potty training is going well and your new doodle already has some other training as well! As small breeders who home raise our goldendoodle puppies, we are always finding new ways to give our/your new goldendoodle puppy the best possible start by crate training, potty training, teaching basic manners and more. Getting a new puppy is a big step, but there are a few things that we feel make it easier to introdue a new puppy into your home. We’ll go over a few of those steps here.

Puppies have started potty training, but need reinforcement and constant oversight

Your new goldendoodle puppy is making good progress towards potty training, however, it’s important that you reinforce it by continuing to crate train your pup and following a good schedule. Puppies under a year old should kept in a crate or a playyard when unsupervised to prevent potty accidents, but also to keep them safe and keep your home undamaged. A puppy under a year old is not reliable, no matter how sweet, well-behaved and potty trained they are. Puppies under a year of age may look full grown, but they tend to get those funny ideas to chew your favorite shoes, baseboards, chair legs and so on when bored and left to their own devices.

A goldendoodle puppy in her playyard
Playyards are a great way to give your puppy more room to play while keeping them contained. Food, water and a potty area are provided.

Your goldendoodle puppy sleeps through the night in a dog crate.

By the time our puppies go to their new homes at between 8 and 12 weeks of age, your new goldendoodle puppy is generally sleeping through the night in a dog crate. Dogs naturally try to keep their sleeping areas clean, so that night time crate training goldendoodle puppies is an important first step to potty training. If the pups are just 8 weeks old, they have been sleeping with their litter mates, so they may have an adjustment period the first night or two. It’s important to not take them out during the night and to let them learn to settle or else they will quickly learn that whining and barking in the middle of the night is much more fun than settling down to sleep.

Puppies are eating dry kibble

We start our puppies on dry dog kibble at around 6 weeks old, so by 8 weeks of age, they are generally eating their dry food pretty well. We do suggest that you talk to your vet and determine which dog food they recommend. It should be a high quality dog food that is specifically made for puppies. Once you choose your new dog food, you can start trasitioning your puppy to the new food.

Your doodle pup has their first shots and parasite treatment

Your new puppy has their first of three puppy vaccines. Puppies need a series of three to be fully vaccinated against parvo and other canine illnesses, so you will need to keep them at home or away from places where sick or unvaccinated dogs may have been, such as parks, sidewalks, grassy dog areas, etc. If you take them shopping at pet-friendly stores, keep them in the shopping cart until they’re fully vaccinated.

We Have Started Teaching Some Basic Commends and Early Training

12 week old Doodle pup with his boy
Kenny was the smartest little guy. He caught on to everything so quickly.

Your young goldendoodle is smart and learns very quickly. The earlier they are introduced to training concepts, the quicker they catch on to what you are trying to teach them. So before your puppy leaves our home we like to teach them to “Watch Me,” (pay attention), mand (to sit using a hand motion) and to sit before being petted. Any puppies that we have that are older than 8 weeks may also have started learning “Place” on a dog cot, “Settle” and “Go Potty” to teach them to do their business quickly when put outside.

When you pick up your new goldendoodle puppy, we will spend a little time to show you what your puppy is learning and how to keep it up. We will also give you a copy of our schedule that we have the puppies on. You are free to adjust it to your own, but it’s important that when potty and crate training goldendoodle puppies that you do have a good schedule in place.

8 week old doodle puppies know that “Settle” and ‘Place” means treats.

We hope that gives you a little more confidence in adding a new puppy to your home. We know it’s a big decision, but we feel it is so worth it. Goldendoodles are such wonderful dogs, inside and out. Our goldendoodles have added so much to our family, we want to share the love.
