Don’t bet me wrong — he’s playful and is always up for a good game of catch Dory and her very cool stick, but he is very attached to people and will make an excellent companion to someone who wants a canine buddy along for the ride. Why choose a Goldendoodle?
Best Friends Forever!!!
If you are wondering why so many people and families choose a goldendoodle, here’s our take on it. First of all, they’re a great mix intelligence, affection, playfulness and are very, very good-looking. The goldendoodle breed has become well-known for their friendly, social nature and eagerness to please and be close to their humans. Most goldendoodles become fast friends with kids, other pets, and pretty much everyone they meet. Their intelligence is something they inherit from the standard Poodle. Their social attributes, playfulness and loving, loyal nature is something carried over more from their Golden Retriever genes. This combination of characteristics and traits generally making goldendoodles easy to train and eager to please. When they start training classes, they are often the stars of their class.
Plus, Goldendoodles, especially the F1bs, inherit their poodle parent’s trait of being low to no shed. This makes them a good choice for those looking for a dog that won’t trigger allergies or leave fur everywhere.
So, whether you are looking cuddle buddy on the couch or a fun companion for outdoor adventures, a Goldendoodle will fit right in and bring so much joy to your life!

Sugar and Spice and All Things Nice – The Sweetheart
Minnie is our curly, fluffy girl. This little girl should be low to no shed and a good fit for those with dog allergies. Minnie is bouncy, cute and fun, but also more gentle and lady-like. She is very observant and will be the first one to catch to a new toy or bit of training. She is the smallest pup of the bunch and will probably be closer to 45ish pounds full grown.
UPDATE: Minnie has been adopted! Her new family has three wonderful little boys who have been asking for a dog for a long time now. Have fun, Minnie!
Those silly boys think they’ll get attention by jumping and whopping, but Minnie knows that sitting nicely and looking adorable is what REALLY gets you the attention.
Honey has a sweet, well-rounded personality wise. She’s got that playful, yet attentive goldendoodle charm. This sweet girl wIll make a very loving companion as she’s affectionate and loyal. Stroking her soft, silky fur is soothing and relaxing. She’s good with children and other pets. Her favorite toy is the tennis ball, just like her mommy, Cedar.
Honey takes more after her golden retriever side both in coat type and temperment
UPDATE: Honey has been adopted and is enjoying her new family! Congratulations to the lucky family who got this cutie! She’s got a lot of love to give!

Frogs and Snails and Puppy Dog’s Tails = Mr. Playful Lovebug
If Dory is the sweet little thing, Bluey is the playful, fun Goofball type. He is the one who starts all the games and finds the best sticks — which makes his siblings quite jealous, but does lead to a good game of chase.
This boy is the hugger of the bunch! He also has the art of doodle kisses down to a science!
UPDATE: Bluey has been adopted. He has moved to Arkansas with his new mom and dad where he will be daddy Louie’s companion as he travels around to construction sites. Bluey says that he is going to be SUCH a good helper! 🙂

A Glimpse Into the Early Days with a Goldendoodle Puppy
We love getting updates and feedback from our goldendoodle families and what it’s like in the early days with a goldendoodle puppy. Christy and her family recently adopted a little female goldendoodle pup, who they have now called Lily. We highlighted Lily’s sweet gotcha story in a previous post. We have since gotten several more updates from Christy. I thought it would be helpful to some of our new goldendoodle families to hear another family’s experience and how they handled the early days with a goldendoodle puppy.
Each puppy is their own little personality and each one handles going to their new homes differently. For some they don’t bat an eye as they slip into their new routines and surroundings. For others, it might take a day or two to adjust. Once they do settle in and find their place, you’ll wonder what you ever did without them. 🙂
Congratulations, Christy and family! We’re so happy Lily has you to grow up with!
Puppy snuggles are the best!
So, let’s jump right in. A big thank you to Christy for the detailed updates and the beautiful pictures, which she has graciously agreed to let us publish here for your benefit.
Going Home Week – Lily is 8 weeks, going on 9 weeks
From Christy W.
Hi! Loved seeing your story about Lily’s homecoming on the Rainfield page.
Lily has got the whole travel business down pat
Lily was whining a lot through the night last night. We thought maybe she was having a regression. But when we went to take the kids to school, there were helicopters hovering near our house. Apparently there was an apartment fire one neighborhood over since 3am! Since it was only 0.2 miles away, we think that Lily may have heard the commotion or even smelled the smoke!! She is already working hard at alerting us to danger overnight.
Need a paw? Lily to the rescue!
She is such a smart girl! We have been working on sit, and she does it immediately and even when running up to my daughter. She is definitely feeling more at home and getting into everything, so we are working on setting some boundaries and teaching her how to control her energy and that puppy chewing. We took her on her first carpool pickup today (she sat in Dad’s seat, haha) and she did great! She did have some diarrhea today, but I just gave her the stuff (probiotics) you showed me and hopefully she will be better soon. Her vet said she looks great yesterday!
Balltime!
That’s it for now! Everyone loves her so much. I can really see the work you’ve put into her so far, and it has made a world of difference in us managing the work of a puppy and keeping up with her trainings.

Celebrating our New Rainfield Goldendoodle Families!
We have some new Rainfield Goldendoodle Families this week! Well, some are returning, but all have new goldendoodle puppies at home this weekend!
One of our Rainfield Goldendoodle families!
Christy and her very special family!
Christy’s story starts many years ago when she and her husband were engaged. From what she says, they couldn’t WAIT to get their first puppy so they treked on over to Rainfield Goldendoodle in North Houston and adopted a darling goldendoodle puppy named Gus. She had so many sweet and fun stories to tell of Gus and his many adventures as he raised her two little ones and was an important part of their home.
Christy came well prepared for the trip home
It’s been a few years now since Kipper crossed the rainbow bridge and Christy’s family were finally ready to bring a new puppy home! Lucky for them, little Lily, a spunky little goldendoodle puppy, was born on Father’s Day. With her perky personality and love of adventure (and water), Lily was a little ray of sunshine just waiting to bring joy and loads of fun to a very special family.
Congrats on the new puppy!
When Christy’s family came to choose out a puppy, Lily was sure this was her family, and she was right! From the sounds of it, she’s fitting right in to Christy’s household. She had a good night’s sleep in her crate last night and has been busy discovering the ins and outs of Christy’s busy home. She’s a little velcro puppy so far! It’s her first big day away from her former home and siblings, but she’ll be feeling herself again in no time! Have fun little one!
Check out the nice playpen set for when Lily’s is unsupervised! Two cuties!Lambchop is Lily’s favorite toy so far!
Happy Tails, sweet Lily! And Congratulations, Christy! We hope to see lots of updates and pictures of Lily and all of her adventures with your family!
